Zoya (ゾーヤ, Zoya) is one of the main characters of the Akiba Maid War anime series. She is a maid at Oinky Doink Café from the Russian military.
Appearance[]
Zoya is a tall Russian woman with narrow blue eyes and long, light gray hair.
Personality[]
Zoya appears to be a Russian stereotype: cold and never smiles, because her parents were too strict with her. Despite her initially cold personality, Zoya is revealed to love cute things and is an avid doll collector.
Background[]
Born in the former Soviet Union, Zoya had been forbidden from touching and playing with cute things by her strict parents. Instead, she was forced to learn combat in the military. She becomes a maid in Japan following the collapse of the Soviet Union, but ruins her trial at an Akiba Maid Café due to her inability to make herself smile, so she quits being a maid and becomes Dateno Taira's subordinate. She fights Ranko at the Akiba Fight Club, and after acknowledging each other's cuteness, she joins the café as a maid. She quickly becomes protective of the café and her fellow maids.
Relationships[]
Ranko Mannen[]
Ranko and Zoya's first meeting is rocky, the latter insisting Ranko isn't a maid and insulting her brute actions. When formally introduced as fighting rivals, Zoya says Ranko isn't cute enough to be a maid, while Ranko responds that just wearing the uniform is enough. Upon reaching their final round, Ranko smiles at Zoya, and the two acknowledge each other's cuteness, gaining respect. Afterward, Zoya can live her truth as a cute maid because of Ranko and starts working at Oinky Doink Café, counting on Ranko to teach her everything she should know about being a maid.
In Episode 10, Zoya along with Shiipon and Yumechi, cheer Ranko on for her date with Suehiro, unaware he was sent to assassinate her.
