Akiba Maid War Wiki

Creatureland Group (ケダモノランド, Kedamonorando) is a holding company operated by Nagi in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan.

Description[]

Creatureland Group is the most powerful and influential maid café group in Akihabara, constantly menacing the Oinky Doink Café due to a big debt they owe to them. As its name implies, all of the maid cafés that are subsidiaries of the Creatureland Group have creature themes such as lion, fox, cat, and pig.

The building appears to be located in the central part of town and is visible from the rooftop of the Oinky Doink Café.

The company's main business activity is managing creature-themed cafes by allowing them to operate in Akihabara in exchange for a portion of its profits. Maid instructor Minori explained to Nagomi that the business relationship between the Creatureland Group and the maid cafés is meant to be supportive, in that the group will protect the maids no matter the cost and in exchange, the maids are expected to squeeze out their sweets money.

Every maid working for a café under the Creatureland Group is expected to have the ability to fight, make money, and be loyal to the group. They are also expected to respond with "OKダモノ" (OK-damono "OK-reature") when dealing directly with a senior member of the company.

Although all of the maid cafes under the Creatureland Group are considered sister cafés and are expected to be friendly and helpful to one another, there is a "Moe Moe Hierarchy", where the lower-tier cafés are subject to bullying and harassment from higher-tier cafés. Those in the higher tiers have achieved their position through doing dirty work for the company, offering lots of sweets money, or having a bond of sisterhood with a higher ranking café.

Prior to Episode 8, the group's major rival was the Maidalien Group, which had become more profitable while also maintaining its distance from Creatureland. Ugaki aimed to make a peaceful merger happen between the two groups on equal terms. Still, the deal fell short, with Nagi taking full advantage and inevitably erasing the Maidalien Group from Akihabara. While a few maids who opposed the merger broke away from the group following the death of a senior member Minami, those who had remained were rebranded as the Memory Lane Animal Café Axolotl. Additionally, the dissolvement of the Maidalien Group allowed the Creatureland Group to become the sole organizer of the Akiba Maid Festival.

However, in the final episode, all of the maids who were part of the Creatureland Group were all swayed by Nagomi's performance and speech except for Nagi, who was shot and then impaled to death upon the open fire at Nagomi.

It is implied that the Creatureland Group ceased operations in the coming years.

Trivia[]

  • The name of the company is based on a pet store called Creatureland that's being held in Singapore hence the animal-theming for these maids here. The Japanese name could be a reference to the anime series Kemono Friends.
