Aota (青田, Aota) is a minor character in the Akiba Maid War anime series.

Appearance[]

Aota is an average-looking young man, likely a college student, based on his casual clothing and a baseball hat to the side. He has wild brown hair and blue eyes.

Personality[]

Like his friends, Aota appeared to be an otaku that frequented maid cafes often.

Background[]

Aota, along with his friends, Akai and Midorikawa were introduced in Episode 7, when they were searching for Nagomi Wahira. After they found her working at a ninja-themed café, she tried to deny her identity. The trio quickly stops her and reveals that they want to give her a cheki of Nerula as they were her regular masters at Invader Café Destron prior to her death. As Nagomi becomes emotional over the picture, Akai apologizes, as they didn't intend to make her cry.

In Episode 8, the trio visited the Oinky Doink Café, congratulating Nagomi for the café's victory over the Memory Lane Animal Café Axolotl in a game of baseball.

In Episode 9, the trio visited the Oinky Doink Café booth at the Lady Omoe Festival and ordered the pigs' feet that they were selling. As Nagomi thanks them for visiting their booth, Akai mentions that they had trouble finding them, due to how the guide designated their location to be mistakenly read as "Outhouse". During the start of the Lady Omoe Climb, as the Oinky Doink Café maids cut ahead of the line and catch up with the top tier cafés, the trio sees them and cheers them on. Following Nagomi's victory, they congratulate her from the crowd.

In Episode 10, the trio cheer on Yumechi, as she performs "The Pure Maid's Killer Kiss" following the café's newfound success.

In Episode 11, as Nagomi and Ranko Mannen clean up the mess in front of the café after it was formally disowned by Creatureland Group, Aota and Midorikawa arrive but without Akai. Nagomi greets them and tells them they are still not open yet, but they quickly inform her that Akai is dead. Aota notes that Akai was the unidentified body found in the Kanda River that was mentioned on the newscast the previous week. As they tell Nagomi that he was apparently tortured before his death, Ranko confirms that it sounded like the handiwork of a maid. They reveal that Akai had been bragging about Nagomi to other maids, which upset them, but he was oblivious to their reaction. The two friends express their fear that they could be the next target due to their association with Akai and Nagomi. They quickly apologize to her and tell her that they can no longer visit the café and be her customers if they are dead, before running away.

In the post-credits scene in Episode 12, an older Aota and Midorikawa are seen in 2018 talking to another man about how dangerous Akibahara used to be and visit the "New Oinky Doink Café" to see their favorite maid: a 36-year-old wheelchair-bound Nagomi.
