Plot[]

Set in Akihabara in 1999. A 17-year-old girl named Nagomi Wahira begins her new job working at a pig-themed maid café, trying to follow her dream of being a cheerful and hardworking maid. However, Nagomi soon finds that the world of maid cafes in Akihabara is much more cutthroat than she initially anticipated.

Story[]

Set in Spring 1999, Nagomi Wahira comes to Akihabara, longing to be a cute maid. End-of-the-century "Akiba" is filled with a wide variety of maids. The maid café "Ton Tokoton", commonly known as "Pig Hut", is open as well! The rookie maid enters the store and encounters an unpredictable maid, sending her into a big panic.[4]

Nagomi must do her best to elevate the Pig Hut over all other maid cafés vying for top ranking. Along the way, she'll slice out a place for herself amid the frills and thrills of life at the Pig Hut. Just when Nagomi's dreams are within her grasp, she discovers not everything is as it seems amid the maid cafés of Akihabara.

Trivia[]

  • In contrast to the Greek text on Akiba Maid War, the Japanese text Akiba Meido Sensou is a play with words, meaning a word Name Meido means ‘Netherworld’, but the word name “Menid” is what the language is called ‘The Great’ in Japanese, but also a song in Japanese, says the same about Maid War. / the Japanese text “Akiba Meido Sensou” is a fun pun, as “Meido” is phonetically pronounced “Maid” but calligraphically written as the word for “Underworld.”[7]
